Road Improvement Plans for Santa Catalina Estates

Thank you for reaching out regarding the status of road improvements in your subdivision. Pima County is committed to continuing our 10-year road repair program, which began in late 2019, to fix roads in poor or very poor condition. The Pima County Transportation Advisory Committee (PCTAC) has enacted criteria to fix the worst local roads first, with subdivisions selected based on their trigger road (the lowest PCI-rated road in the area).

All funding for the Fiscal Year 2025 program (July 2024 – June 2025) has been allocated upon reaching a trigger road PCI of 25. Arterial and collector roadways are selected based on a return on investment calculation, which considers traffic volume, road condition, and other factors.

When Will These Roads Be Repaired?

Santa Catalina Estates is not scheduled for repaving in the current fiscal year (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025). However, the subdivision remains a strong candidate for future repaving projects.

In the meantime, we will continue to address maintenance requests, including pothole repairs.
