SCEHOA Dumpster Days: February 6-9

We’re excited to provide dumpsters for our community cleanup, but we need your help to make sure everything runs smoothly! Please follow the guidelines below to ensure safe and efficient use of the containers.

Key Guidelines

Last year, a board member had to offload excess trash due to overfilled dumpsters. 🙁 Please help us avoid this by visiting another location if the dumpster is full. Let’s keep it safe and easy for everyone!

  • Do Not Overfill: All materials must fit inside the container. Items cannot stick out or exceed the top. Overfilled dumpsters cannot be transported. If the dumpster is full, please visit another location. A list of dumpster locations is provided on the roll-off for your convenience.

  • Heavy Materials: Dirt, rock, concrete, brick, and asphalt should not exceed 16 inches from the bottom of the container.

  • Why It Matters: By law, all loads must be tarped during transport. Overfilled dumpsters cannot be safely moved, and a board member may have to climb in to fix the issue—this is hazardous and entirely avoidable!

What Cannot Be Put in Containers?

To ensure safety and compliance, the following items are prohibited:

  • Explosives, ammunition, or firearms

  • Railroad ties

  • Propane tanks or any pressurized containers

  • Hazardous waste (pesticides, mercury-containing equipment, PCBs, or radioactive materials)

  • Universal waste (batteries, pesticides, mercury equipment)

  • Bulk liquids, raw septage, or waste oil

  • Refrigerators or units containing refrigerants

  • Whole tires or lead-acid batteries

  • Intact automobiles or large vehicle parts

  • Human or animal waste

  • Heavy construction debris (dirt, concrete, asphalt beyond 16 inches)

  • Any waste prohibited by federal, state, or city policies
